M.Sc., Systems Engineering (2002),Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (at COPPE Institute), with the dissertation: "Um Ambiente para Mineração de Utilização da Web" ("An Architecture for Web Usage Mining"). M.Sc., Cognitive Science and Language (2006), Barcelona University, with a dissertation on Named Entities Recognition (NER) and Information Extraction. My tutor was Toni Badia, Ph.D., professor at Pompeu Fabra University.

I've worked as a consultant, software engineer and researcher in many industrial and academic projects, in places like Petrobrás (Rio de Janeiro) and Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona).

I've been a teacher in graduate and post-graduate courses in Universidade Federal da Bahia, Universidade Católica de Salvador, UNIFACS (Salvador, Bahia) and Universidade Estácio de Sá (Rio de Janeiro).

Since 2008, I am the coordinator of the Advanced Development Group of Barcelona Media Foundation, which develops software for areas like Social Media, Computational Linguistics, Advanced User Interfaces, mobile applications and so on.
